This was day number I don’t even know on our SXSW trip. I tend to lose track of the days a lot. It’s better that way. At any rate, our SXSW surroundings, the cold walls and high ceilings of the Austin Convention Center ground floor, were not, how do I put this, not very scenic. It was more industrial and commercial, and the “scene” if you will was really whatever we were creating at the time.
The scene created by the melodious sounds of Good Old War had a warming effect on the cold surroundings. Their sound is that of three individuals acting in succinct harmony with one another and sharing a composition equally. It makes sense given their name was created from pieces of each members’ respective own names. The effect of three musicians functioning together in such a manner is quite simply put, pleasant. It’s the type of music that helps one lose track of the days.
